As a charity we use much of our funds, from membership and donations, to help support local wildlife, conservation, and education projects in the form of monetary grants. This is often just a few hundred pounds, but can be more. These grants make a huge difference to local initiatives. Supported projects in the past have included tree planting in Upper Wharfedale, installation of barn owl, swift and pied flycatcher nest boxes, provision of equipment for conservation work at local nature reserves, supply of wildflower seed and plugs, planting of hedgerows, and enabling children from across the Leeds and Bradford area to enjoy the countryside.
