Latest sightings

Thank you to all those who have been sending in their sightings. We have had quite a lot of Cuckoo reports and, further to John Waite’s Redstart sighting at Scargill Reservoir, another was spotted up near Kettlewell on the 4th June by Chris Elliot. A nice find, in the world of lepidoptera, was this impressive looking Lime hawk moth found in Jennifer Moore’s garden in Ilkley (see featured image). Another surprising sighting was a Painted lady butterfly yesterday evening, still flitting round gone 9pm, just below Hanginstone Road.
