Above Skirethorns

One of the most efficient ways to discover the Dales is by bicycle. You can do your own thing and stay overnight in some of our excellent pubs and hotels, or arrange a custom-made holiday. It gives you the chance to see a variety of scenery and leap off to investigate interesting sites straight away.

You may wish to come by bus, then explore by pedal-power:

Also:

The Leeds Liverpool Canal is just a short hop from Ilkley over into Airedale, but also continues up to Skipton and Gargrave as it winds it’s way towards Liverpool.  The stretch from Skipton to Burnley is particularly rewarding and being on towpaths is not too hard going.

The sustrans site is also a good resource for cyclists.
